Educational Loan Company, LLC. ("ELC") provides this privacy policy ("Policy") to inform you of our practices with respect to the collection and use of information that may personally identify you, including information collected through our website located at http://www.educationalloancompany.com (the "Site"). This Policy provides you with an opportunity to make informed choices about the management of your personally identifiable information.
Scope
This Policy applies to all personally identifiable information that we collect and maintain about our prospective, current and former clients, including any contact information (e.g., name and address), financial information (e.g., account and credit history), federal loan history information (e.g., loan amount, loan type, school and lender) or identifying information (e.g., social security number, date of birth) that we obtain in connection with providing a consumer financial product or service for personal, family or household purposes ("Personal Information").
Collection
We may collect Personal Information about you through a variety of means, such as (i) applications, contracts or other documents that you submit to us; (ii) transactions in which you may engage with us or our affiliates in person, by phone or through other modes of communication; (iii) visits that you may make to the Site (iv) consumer reporting agencies.
Use
ELC uses your Personal Information to provide you with any products or services that you have requested, to respond to correspondence and to contact you when reasonably necessary. For example, Personal Information is used by ELC to verify federal loan payoff information, communicate with lenders, and to fund federal educational loans. ELC may also use your Personal Information to provide you with information about financial products and services that we believe may be of interest to you.
Disclosure
To facilitate your transactions, among other things, ELC may disclose your Personal Information to affiliated companies within the ELC corporate family. ELC may also disclose your Personal Information to non-affiliated third parties such as financing companies, warranty providers, and credit card processing agents to assist us in processing your transactions and providing you with information we believe will be of interest to you. ELC may also share your Personal Information with guarantee agencies, servicing agencies, your lenders, schools or servicers, and as otherwise required to comply with U.S. Department of Education guidelines. We may also disclose your Personal Information as we believe is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation or other governmental authority. Finally, we may disclose your Personal Information upon a transfer or sale to another entity of all or substantially all of ELC's assets or stock in ELC's line of business to which this Policy relates or upon any other corporate reorganization, but only after ascertaining that the other entity agrees to be bound by the terms of this Policy with respect to Personal Information collected hereunder.
Opting-Out
By sharing your Personal Information with select companies as discussed above, ELC is able to provide you with the high quality service you expect from us. However, ELC also provides you with the choice to "opt-out" of having us share certain types of Personal Information with affiliated and/or non-affiliated companies, except as permitted by law. The Fair Credit Reporting Act also gives you the opportunity to limit the sharing of "non-experience information" within the ELC corporate family. "Non-experience information" means information that is used, expected to be used or collected for the purpose of establishing your eligibility for consumer credit, insurance or deposit accounts, and that is not related solely to your specific transactions or other experiences with us.
If you choose to "opt-out" of ELC's information sharing procedures with respect to affiliated entities, non-affiliated third parties or non-experience information (other than disclosures permitted by law), you may direct us not to share this information by calling us at (800) 990-1233.
Security
ELC employs procedural and technological measures, consistent with legal requirements and the demands of customer service, reasonably designed to protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. ELC's procedural and technological measures include utilization of 128 bit encryption technology, shredding of physical documents containing Personal Information prior to disposal, and restricted access to data in an alarm secured facility.
Referrals
For your convenience, ELC may from time to time refer you to certain third parties who have information, products or services that we believe may be of interest to you. For example, ELC provides a number of "links" on its websites through which you can transfer to the websites of the manufacturers' whose products we distribute. If you choose to communicate with a third party or visit its website, please be aware that the third party's privacy policy will govern your activities and any information you disclose to the third party. ELC is not responsible for any third party's practices.

For your convenience, ELC may provide links to certain third party websites or referrals to certain third parties' products or services. If you choose to visit a third party's website or use its products or services, please be aware that the third party's privacy policy, and not the ELC Policy, will govern your activities and any information you disclose while interacting with the third party.
Account and Password
If you choose to register on the Site, you will need to supply a User ID and password to gain access to specific parts of the Site. You are responsible for keeping the confidentiality of your User ID and password. If you feel the confidentiality of your password or User ID has been compromised; you agree to immediately notify ELC at support@elcloans.com.
Collection of Information From Children
Users of ELC services, including the Site, must be 18 years of age or older to create an account. ELC has no interest in collecting information from people under 18 years of age.
Changes
ELC reserves the right to change this Policy, and will post any revisions on the Site or communicate such revisions to you through the mail or other reasonable means. Your continued use of the ELC services, including the Site, will be subject to the then-current privacy policy.
